Beautiful restaurant with amazing views, staff and the food is incredible. Difficult with some of the aggressiveness of the tourist sells though with some staff coming up to try and sell pictures and play music for fees when not really wanted. If we were able to just enjoy the food and if wanted to request music or photos instead of having it pushed on customers would be much more enjoyable overall. Otherwise the restaurant staff and Mexican food is top notch and has a beautiful outdoor scenery environment!
I really enjoyed the vibes there. Right in the center of Old Town, I would recommend anyone to try. I like Marguerite, although the Tacos was just fine. The service, however, was top notch. I really like the staff that provided service to us. The menu is also interesting and you have Taco Tuesday where the discounts are very nice.
My shared ride driver recommended this place. It was such a cool atmosphere, very traditional. They had a couple of ladies making tortillas right in front of you! They even had live music when I was there. I tried the carnitas, and they were pretty good, a bit dry for my preference, but the taste was authentic. The flour tortillas were delicious!
My husband had been waiting our whole San Diego trip for a life-changing food experience, and he finally got it at Cafe Coyote! They were crowded, but we were still seated right away & barely had to wait for our food. The environment was so fun. And the food was awesome - strong flavors, authentic & homemade feel, and just so good. Don’t miss this place!!
Cafe Coyote is a very large and fun restaurant in the touristy Old Town San Diego. It sprawls over two building, with lots of seating all over the 2 building and on the patio. The staff here is very nice and friendly and will accommodate everyone. My server was great, very happy and helpful. The food here is very good and the beer is cold on a hot day. one of the more fun places in this area and affordable. Beer and tacos (with free nachos and salsa) was $20.
Café Coyote is one of the more fun atmospheres in Old Town San Diego. It’s a huge restaurant with a great vibe and live music most evenings. We went as a small group and were able to be seated immediately. Service wasn’t super friendly but adequate which was unfortunate because a more friendly server would have heightened the experience for everyone. The margaritas were average and, honestly, the food is nothing to write home about. We all ordered a variety of tacos on a Taco Tuesday evening and they were no one raves about them. They were a little below average in taste. The best of the food ordered were the fresh flour tortillas being made in the front of the restaurant. Those were served piping hot and amazing. Overall they get an A+ for location and atmosphere, average in service and below average in food.
Great food. Even better atmosphere. Lots of lovely outdoor seating. Even though we were there on a Sunday afternoon and they were extremely busy, we were seated promptly and served just as fast. Waitress was friendly, engaging and patient. Great customer service. Was a great way to end our vacation.
Cafe Coyote never disappoints. Inviting atmosphere that smells of delicious food. Danny was an excellent server who went above and beyond to take care of us. The fresh tortillas melt in your mouth. If you like guacamole then you should try theirs. The large nacho is big enough to serve 3-4 people.
